It’s a plant endemic to the Iberian Peninsula that in Portugal occurs only in Berlengas archipelago. It has large dark green and glossy leaves, is highly branched and can grow up to one meter high. The flowers (inflorescences) are whitish and quite conspicuous. Their roots allow it to cling to the granite cracks so it can be found on rocky outcrops, consolidated gravel and halophytic cliffs.
